Better start saving.

The Covers
Hey guys. I recently entered a competition to design a comic book cover. It could be imagined or based on real heroes. I couldn't decide, so I did 3. I chose CROM in the end as I thought it looked the most appealing out of all of them. Good luck to all who entered, there were some fab designs. I'll let you know how I do. I also get the meet Greg Staples, which will be awesome, win or not! :)
Cheers.

Hidden Wars Book Covers
Here are 3 out of 4 covers I'm doing for author Annie Bellet. I've yet to complete the 4th, but I thought I'd show the series in it's current state. I really enjoy painting book covers. The story is really cool, check out Annie's site for more info:

I think her site hasn't been updated yet, but she's a great author.

Post Christmas Warmup
Hey everyone. Hope you all had a good Christmas. Normally I go mental over the break and try and cram as much work in as I can. This year I decided to take a full week off, which I've never done. I wanted to try and relax as I've had quite a lot of stress recently. I think it's worked and I feel fully rejuvenated. I decided to start painting again today so did a strict 30 minute warmup, nothing special. But it's helped me get my flow going again. It's surprising how much my wrist hurt after 5 minutes haha.
On a Christmas note, I was lucky and received some lovely art-books from my girlfriend, Nat, and my family. Nat also bought me a set of greyscale Copic markers, which I'm looking forward to using in the new year. I want to try and design more. Instead of painting, actually thinking about the design shapes and language more than I currently do. Anyway, hope you have a happy new year, bring on 2013!

Some new paints.
Again, sorry for the lack of updates. Had a few book covers on the go which I'll post soon. In the mean time, here are a few paints I've done the past week; some more finished than others. Really enjoying painting at the moment, seem to have found some good positivity from somewhere :) Hope you like.

MASS
We had a talk organised at work with famous illustrator John Harris on Thursday. He was such an inspirational man, with a lot of fantastic artwork. He even did a demo using pastels. As a thank you, I painted a space scene with 'mass' as the keyword.
Check out his site. He's the inspiration for a lot of my favourite artists today :)
